ElevenLabs prices in 2026 (for reference)
Before looking at discounts, here's what you'd pay at full price:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Credits/month | Approx. TTS minutes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | – | 10,000 | ~10 |
| Starter | $6 | $5 | 30,000 | ~30 |
| Creator | $22 (first month $11) | $18.33 | 121,000 | ~121 |
| Pro | $99 | $82.50 | 600,000 | ~600 |
| Scale | $299 | $249.17 | 1,800,000 | ~1,800 |
| Business | $990 | $825 | 6,000,000 | ~6,000 |
Credits are shared across text to speech, sound effects, music, dubbing and other tools. For standard multilingual text to speech, one character is roughly one credit. For a deeper breakdown of each tier, see our ElevenLabs pricing explained guide.
1. Start on the Free plan (properly)
The Free plan costs nothing and gives you 10,000 credits every month, about 10 minutes of generated speech. It includes text to speech, speech to text, sound effects, voice design, music and 3 Studio projects.
What it doesn't include is a commercial license. That starts on Starter. So treat the Free plan as a testing ground:
- Paste the same 150–200-word script into several voices and compare.
- Test your intro, a mid-video section and an outro so you hear how the voice handles different tones.
- Try voice settings (stability, similarity, style) before you spend paid credits on retakes.
Doing your experimenting on the Free plan means you won't waste paid credits learning the tool. If you're unsure whether free-plan audio can go on a monetized channel, read ElevenLabs Free vs Paid on YouTube.
2. Use the first-month Creator offer
The pricing page currently shows "First month 50% off" on the Creator plan: $11 instead of $22 for your first month. Creator is the plan most YouTubers grow into because it adds:
- Professional Voice Cloning, a high-fidelity clone of your own voice
- 121,000 credits/month (~121 minutes)
- The ability to buy additional credits
The smart way to use this offer: subscribe to Creator for one month, record and train your Professional Voice Clone, produce a batch of scripts, then decide whether to stay on Creator or drop to Starter. Remember it renews at the normal price, so set a reminder if you plan to change plans.
3. Pay annually: two months free
ElevenLabs states that annual billing equals 10x the monthly price, which is two months free. In practice:
- Starter: $60/year instead of $72
- Creator: about $220/year instead of $264
- Pro: $990/year instead of $1,188
Annual only makes sense once you know which plan you need. A common pattern is to pay monthly for one or two months, track how many credits your channel actually uses, then switch to annual on the right tier.

4. Let credit rollover work for you
According to ElevenLabs' FAQ, unused credits on paid plans roll over for up to two months, so your balance can reach up to 3x your monthly quota, as long as you keep an active subscription and don't downgrade or cancel. A few consequences:
- If you upload in bursts (for example, a big batch every few weeks), you may not need a bigger plan; rollover can absorb the spikes.
- Downgrading or cancelling forfeits unused credits at the end of the cycle, so use them up first.
- Pay-as-you-go top-up credits are separate and are not subject to the rollover cap.
5. Pick the smallest plan that fits
The biggest "discount" is often not overpaying. Rough guide, assuming about 1,000 characters per minute of narration:
| Your output | Approx. credits/month | Plan to consider |
|---|---|---|
| A few Shorts per week | Under 30,000 | Starter ($6) |
| One 10–15 min video per week | ~50,000–70,000 | Creator ($22) |
| Two or more long videos per week | ~100,000+ | Creator; watch your balance |
| Daily long-form or client work | 300,000+ | Pro ($99) |
Your numbers will vary with script length and retakes, so check your real usage on the subscription page in your account after a couple of weeks.
6. Waste fewer credits
Credits are charged per generation, not per download, so retakes cost money. Ways to cut waste:
- Proof your script first. Fix typos, numbers and names before generating.
- Generate in sections. If one sentence sounds off, regenerate that part instead of the whole script.
- Watch for free regenerations. ElevenLabs says a limited number of free regenerations may be available if the content and certain settings don't change; the app shows when a regeneration is free.
- Lock in your settings for a voice once you like them, so you're not experimenting on every video.
7. Startup Grants (only if you're building a product)
The pricing page lists a Startup Grants Program: 12 months free with 33M characters, aimed at startups building conversational AI agents. It's an application program, not a coupon, and most YouTubers won't qualify. If you are building an app, it's worth a look.
What about coupon codes?
We searched the official site and found no public coupon codes. Sites listing "ElevenLabs promo codes" typically recycle the same official offers above, or show codes that fail at checkout. Don't hand your card details to an unofficial reseller for a "discount". Sign up directly on elevenlabs.io and use the offers that are shown there.
The cheapest path for most creators
- Week 1: Free plan. Test voices and settings.
- First paid month: Starter ($6) if you only need commercial rights for short content, or Creator at $11 (first month) if you want to clone your voice.
- Month 2–3: Track credit usage. Right-size your plan.
- After that: Switch to annual billing on the plan you actually use and save two months.
If you're building a channel into a business, don't stop at the voice. Collecting emails from day one makes you less dependent on the algorithm; Systeme.io's free plan covers up to 2,000 contacts with unlimited email sends (per its pricing page).

There's no time-limited trial, but there is a Free plan at $0 with 10,000 credits per month (roughly 10 minutes of text to speech). It doesn't include a commercial license, so use it for testing, not monetized videos.
What is the ElevenLabs first-month discount?

Do unused ElevenLabs credits roll over?

Is there a discount for startups?
+
ElevenLabs runs a Startup Grants Program for teams building conversational AI agents, listed as 12 months free with 33M characters. It's an application program for startups, not a creator discount.
